Meet the LGHS Lady Wildcats Softball Coaching Staff:

Hi everyone - A lot of things have happened since the last update. I am trying to catch up with school, my to do list at home and finally get some games in.
1. I am blown away by the winetasting event we had last Sat. It was such a success. I want to thank all the people involve in making this a great event. I can't mention names because I know I will leave someone out. I am sooooo lucky and privileged to have the support that you have shown the team and program this year. However, there is one particular group I want to thank and that is the JV team for their efforts on the night and especially the ticket sellers who sold my daughter, wife, friends and myself enough tickets to walk away with 10 bottles of wine. No it was not rigged, but extremely lucky. Considering I don't drink wine - I had a blast!
2. I want to congratulate all the teams and their coaches for their amazing performances over the past couple of weeks. The freshman team is proving to be a tough bunch against JV and freshman opponents. The season has started off well for everyone and we are all looking forward to a very successful season.
3. I'm sure that a lot of you have noticed that we have a new assistant coach at both the JV and Freshman levels.
Freshman team - Tara Hodges
We are extremely fortunate to have such an experienced and current coach on our staff. Tara has many talents that she brings.
Tara attended LGHS from 1998-2002. Tara was a two sport athlete, playing volleyball and softball. She played varsity volleyball my junior and senior year. She was on the varsity softball team for four years, and an all-league selection all four years. Her senior year, they went to the CCS semi-finals. She went to Boston University and got her bachelor’s degree in athletic training. She also played on the softball team at BU for two years. Tara is now a certified athletic trainer, currently working with the softball team at Stanford. She graduated from Arizona State in May with a Master’s in Higher Education, and worked with the softball team there as well. In 2008, they won the National Championship.
JV - Sydni Denues
Was my captain last year and the leader of the team. She knows my system and will be a great asset to the JV players. I am very pleased that Syd is helping out this year.
